12-04-19 NBA Blog Train Wednesday: 10 Games

Suns at Magic +2 OVER 213.5

We took our Suns -1.5 at the Magic who were on the second night of a back-to-back. We were uneasy after Nate Dogg advised against it. We should have listened. We should have known that the Suns would spend too much time at the parks and strip clubs.

Magic 128, Suns 114.

We also just picked up Aaron Gordon in fantasy, so OF COURSE he scored a season-high 32 points on 13 of 15 shooting (!!) and 5 of 5 from three (!!!).

The biggest box score discrepancy here was blocks: Magic 7, Suns 0.

Warriors at Hornets -2.5 UNDER 213

When we saw that D-Lo was starting, we jumped on another Hornets Over, this time for real. It got off to a slow start but oh baby things were humming in the 2nd quarter, threes flying left and right. Devonte Graham was on fire! We were elated. With a halftime score of Hornets 58, Warriors 54, we were well on our way!

But then the 4th quarter happened. Our beloved Hornets were up by too much and the Warriors could not score the basketball whatsoever. There was a lid on the rim.

The Warriors scored 13 points in the 4th quarter. And the Hornets only scored 20. It was a Slippery Lock that slipped away.

Hornets 106, Warriors 91.

Golden Graham tied a franchise record with 10 made threes, tying the immortal Kemba Walker. #LettingItFly

Bucks -8.5 at Pistons OVER 223

Bucks -8.5 was a Pure Lock and the only early one that we really liked that we didn’t get in. It was just that kinda night. We really Mushed it.

Drummond letting out some revenge from last year’s sweep in the playoffs.

Bucks 127, Pistons 103.

Drummond got his 15 points (23) but was 1 rebound shy of his 15 boards.

Giannis made 4 of 8 three-pointers. The league is trembling.

Nets -3 at Hawks OVER 227.5

The Nets had four players score 20+ in Garrett Temple (27), Spencer Dinwiddie (24), Taurean Prince (23) and Jarrett Allen (20).

The Hawks had three players score 20+ in Trae Young (39), Cam Reddish (career-high 25) and Damion Jones (20).

Nets 130, Hawks 118.

Brooklyn continues to look better without Kyrie. What happens when he comes back and the Nets don’t look as good because the schedule is about to get tougher?

Brooklyn’s last 7 wins: Bulls, Hornets, Kings, Knicks, Cavs, Celtics and Hawks. We see one current East playoff team in there.

Heat at Celtics -5.5 UNDER 209

In the above Suns-Magic game, we took the team (Suns) playing against the team on the second night of a back-to-back (Magic), however, in this Heat-Celtics game, we took the Heat, who just played last night in Toronto. We did so because Jimmy Butler was just talking last night about how important this game would be. Jimmy (not James) Butler did his part with 37 points on 12 of 18 shooting, 6 of 10 from three, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

But it was us who failed to realize that we still have Jaylen Brown in fantasy. As always, our fantasy players stuck it to the ole ball coach. JB had a season-high 31 points!

Celtics 112, Heat 93.

Guess we really are going to have to get that tattoo of our fantasy roster on our forearm after all.

Grizzlies at Bulls -6.5 UNDER 223

The Grizz outscored the Bulls 56 to 32 in the paint, however, the Bulls made 13 threes to the Grizz 7.

Bulls 106, Grizzlies 99.

The Bulls first two-game winning streak of the season! Chicago has now won 6 in a row against Memphis.

_____________________________________

Pacers -1 at Thunder UNDER 209

The Pesky Pacers continue to get the job done. This is what they do!

Pacers 107, Thunder 100.

Both the Pacers and Thunder shot 48 percent from the field. OKC held the slightest of advantages at 48.8 to 48.3 percent.

After the 0-3 start, Indiana has won 14 of their last 18 games. That’s pesky.

Timberwolves at Mavericks -5 OVER 228.5

On the second night of a back-to-back (a common theme on Wednesday), the Mavs took a while to get going. In fact, it was the Mavs bench that really stepped up and took over this game. That makes for the perfect opportunity to mention something that we have been wanting to discuss for a while now. The Mavs bench has been way better than we thought it would be! Rick Carlisle has gotten the most out of the other Mavs, which was precisely our Final Question for Dallas in our Season Preview.

Mavs 121, T-Wolves 114.

The Mavs bench has the highest net rating in the NBA! Color us surprised and delighted. We love Luke and the Mavs.

And we love to see KP drilling threes and smiling. :)

Lakers +2 at Jazz OVER 212.5

The Lakers were showing off. It didn’t matter that they played last night in Denver. At all.

LeBron clearly traveled after a brain malfunction and the refs completely missed it.

There was a Brow hanging on the rims in Utah on Wednesday night.

This one got so out of hand that Purple Pineapple Dwight hit a corner three! He even stepped back! Dwight is so happy and we love it so much.

Lakers 121, Jazz 96.

The end of this game was a Kuzma block party!

The Lakers and LeBron (in his socks, on the court lol) were “clowning” on the bench and the Jazz announcers were NOT having it. Matt Harpring especially. Maybe this will be a wake up call for Utah who could use a spark!

Kings at Trail Blazers -5 OVER 216.5

The third Kings-Blazers meeting of the 2019-2020 season and rubber match.

Found this by mistake. So, ya welcome.

Blazers 127, Kings 116.

C.J. McCollum has now tied the longest streak of 20+ points games in his career with 10 straight. The Blazers Friday night opponent at Moda? The Lake Show.
