11-25-19 NBA Blog Train Monday: 11 Games

It’s that time of the year, folks. Busy SZN.

The Blog Train didn’t make it out of the station for the Weekend Fast Break.

But have no fear, for the Monday Blog Train is here!

Nets +1 at Cavs UNDER 218.5

If you had Over 218.5, you were very disappointed this one didn’t go into OT thanks to:

Ladies and gentleman, your Eastern Conference Player of the Week — Spencer Dinwiddie!

You already know that Ian Eagle called him Spencer WINdiddie.

Nets 108, Cavs 106

Without Kyrie, the Nets have won 4 in a row. Who have they defeated? The Hornets, Kings, Knicks and Cavs.

Kevin Love didn’t play, but the Cavs crunch time offense still needs a lot of work.

Magic at Pistons -4.5 UNDER 207.5

Orlando points in the 2nd half: 33. That’s total 2nd half points. THIRTY. THREE.

Pistons 103, Magic 88.

Drummond got his 15 boards (18) but did not get his 15 points (7).

The lefty sniper, Luke Kennard, was the game’s highest scorer with 20.

Grizzlies at Pacers -10 OVER 217

Ten seemed like a lot of points, but we don’t like to fuck with the pesky Pacers if we can help it.

T.J. Warren and Jeremy Lamb filled it up with a combined 45 points. We saw this coming.

Pacers 126, T-Wolves 114.

JJJ in 23 minutes: 28 points on 10 of 15 shooting and 6 of 8 from three! Now if only he can figure out his foul trouble issues and stay on the court longer…

There was a scary moment in this game when Ja Morant was helped to the locker room, holding his back after an awkward fall. Ja thankfully returned and even went back into the game… protect Young Ja at all costs!

Timberwolves -4.5 at Hawks OVER 236.5

Down by 10 at halftime, the T-Wolves outscored the Hawks 71 to 49 in the 2nd half.

T-Wolves 125, Hawks 113.

If you had Under 236.5, you are NOT happy with DeAndre' Bembry right now. Bembry made a garbage time lay-up in the last minute to send this one from 236 to 238. Shoo wee, that’s a bad beat.

76ers at Raptors +1.5 UNDER 212.5

The only thing you need to know about this one, and the only thing anybody is talking about, is the fact that Embiid did not score a single point, 0 for 11 from the field. Marc Gasol continues to own Embiid.

Raptors 101, 76ers 96.

Philly led by 5 with four minutes left in the game but crumbled down the stretch. For the Sixers, this was pretty much the exact opposite of Saturday night’s big win over Jimmy Butler and the Heat.

Yo. It’s officially official. We are putting Siakam in the MVP discussion. Spicy P for MVP!

This Siakam ending was absolutely glorious.

Kings +6 at Celtics UNDER 205.5

The Celtics avenged their narrow 1-point loss from last Sunday by handing the Kings a 1-point loss of their own.

Celtics 103, Kings 102.

And they went Under by half a point! Bogey had a good look at the end, too. Alas, she did not fall.

Buddy Hield had some type of night: 11 of 21 on THREE-POINTERS.

The Closer for Boston was Marcus Smart, very fitting since his game-winning floater attempt rolled off the front of the rim last time.

Hornets at Heat -10.5 OVER 212.5

With a game total of 217 points, it’s hard to tell that this was actually the Lock of the Night!

1st quarter: Heat 36, Hornets 31. They were on pace for 268 points. We knew the Heat and the Hornets would both come out very motivated after their respective Saturday night embarrassments.

Heat 117, Hornets 100.

Thanks to the lovely and stunning Ashley Shahahmadi, we now know that Bam actually grew up in NC (Pinetown near the beach) and got his nickname when he was 1, after he flipped over a coffee table while watching the Flintstones, similar to Bamm-Bamm Rubble!

Blazers -1 at Bulls UNDER 226

Melo had his bounce back in Chicago! 25 points on 10 of 20 shooting and 4 of 7 from three. It definitely helped that Dame was in there.

Blazers 117, Bulls 94.

Zack LaVine’s encore: 1 of 5 from three.

Jazz +8.5 at Bucks OVER 226.5

This one looked liked it was going to be a classic Jazz UNDER, but the Bucks erupted in the 2nd half for 74 points.

Bucks 122, Jazz 118.

Gobert did not play and Giannis benefitted greatly, 12 of 16 on shots at the rim and 50 points on the night to go along with 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Casual.

Lakers -4.5 at Spurs UNDER 225.5

You’ll be glad to know that we have stuck true to our word, keeping our vow of not betting on Lakers games for their next 7 games. This was Game #2 of the hiatus and yup, we woulda hit with Lakers -4.5.

[insert eye roll emoji here]

Lakers 114, Spurs 104.

LeBron revels in making his threes against San Antonio and credited the Spurs defense on him in the past as to why he worked so hard on his jumper. LeBron finished with 33 points and 14 assists, knocking down 4 threes.

Three other Lakers made 3 three-pointers: Troy Daniels, KCP and Rondo. (You read those last two correctly.)

Thunder at Warriors +7.5 UNDER 212.5

The new Chase Center was rocking with the G-League Warriors ballin’!

But then the clock struck midnight and the Thunder struck, too. CP3 came a callin’.

Thunder 100, Warriors 97.

The Warriors are so thin right now that Steve Kerr was only able to deploy eight players.

Big Cat obviously hasn’t seen this yet.

Only 2 games on the Tuesday night slate, but we have an appointment viewing party: Clippers at Mavs.

We love this game!
