11-11-19 NBA Blog Train Monday: 6 Games

Timberwolves (5-4) +4 at Pistons (4-6) OVER 223.5

Blake finally made his season debut and D-Rose returned, too!

Blake (19 points) was better than D-Rose (6 points, 3 of 13.)

Dayum, KARL. Big KAT also splashed 4 of 7 threes and finished with 33 points.

T-Wolves 120, Pistons 114.

Three-pointers: T-Wolves 15 of 34, Pistons 16 of 32. That’s 44 and 50 percent. Pretty good.

Over his last 4 games, Andrew Wiggins is averaging 32 points, 5.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds.

Y’all, has Wiggins turned a corner? [insert all of the eyeball emojis HERE]

Pop Quiz: Where did Treveon Graham go to college? (Answer revealed next T-Wolves game capsule!)

Mavericks (6-3) at Celtics (7-1) -3 OVER 220.5

Porzingis struggled mightily: 4 points on 1 of 11 shooting. Perhaps KP was looking ahead to Thursday’s return to MSG?

Tatum was somehow even worse: 5 points on 1 of 18 shooting. YOIKES.

Celtics 116, Mavericks 106.

It was the Kemba Show in the 4th and TD Garden was rockin’. Kemba finished with 29 points (8 of 14 from three).

Jaylen Brown had another solid game, following up his 30-point outing in San Antonio on Saturday with 25 points tonight on 16 shots. JB played 38 minutes and the C’s need him to step up after Hayward’s hand surgery (expected 6 weeks recovery time).

Can there be a Mavs’ game capsule without a Luka stat line? Nope. 34 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds. There was no Luka triple-double, but he did what he could… including:

Luka was born seven years after the original MJ shrug in 1992.

Grizzlies (2-7) +10.5 at Spurs (5-4) UNDER 224.5

Tony Parker Jersey Retirement Night. Pop, as always, made us laugh and smile.

Grizzlies 113, Spurs 109.

This was the JJJ we’ve been waiting for! 24 points with 4 threes.

21 points scored tonight by Dillon Brooks after 31 last week, but he only managed 8 points combined in the two games in between.

Points in the paint: Grizzlies 48, Spurs 32.

Rockets (6-3) at Pelicans (2-7) +7.5 UNDER 242.5

Brandon Ingram was a pre-game scratch after his knee felt funny in warmups. MRI coming tomorrow :/

Rockets -7.5 was looking great for quite some until a classic garbage time bad beat. (Not the only one tonight.)

Rockets 122, Pelicans 116.

Per ESPN’s Royce Young, James Harden’s 37.3 scoring average through the first 10 games is the highest the league has seen through the first 10 games in the last 50 seasons.

But the truly amazing part is that The Beard really hasn’t played that well… still shooting under 30 percent from three, Harden hasn’t even blasted off yet.

Raptors (7-2) at Clippers (6-3) -9.5 UNDER 221

Kawhi struggled in the 1st half against his former mates: 0 for 5 shooting and 4 turnovers.

The Raptors were up 5 going into the 4th and Raptors +9.5 was surely going to hit, right?

Wrong! The Raptors ran out of gas (2nd night of a back-to-back!) with only 10 points in the final frame. The Clippers were up 8 with 20 seconds left when JaMychal Green, of course, got a bucket at the basket to seal the Garbage Time Baloney Bad Beat. Matt Thomas had a look at a 3 at the very end that would have saved us, but instead of actually shooting the ball, he bounced it back down to himself for a lovely travel. Thanks, Matt Thomas.

At least we had UNDER 221, a.k.a. the Lock of the night!

Clippers 98, Raptors 88.

Kawhi was only 2 of 11 from the field with 9 turnovers… but the Clips got it done again in the 4th behind stellar defense. And Kawhi did make his free throws (8 of 9), snatch 3 steals, dish out 9 dimes and snag 11 boards.

Our favorite play of the night: Boucher’s block on Harrell!

POWER BLOCK.

Jazz (6-3) -8 at Warriors (2-8) OVER 211

The Jazz didn’t hit the UNDER for the second time in their last 3 games. We ain’t mad at ‘em. Jazz UNDERS have still won us hundreds.

Jazz 122, Warriors 108.

Don Mitch, Conley and Gobert each scored 20+ points with Mitchell and Conley each making 5 threes.

Draymond was ejected in the 4th quarter and he T’ed up the ref lol

Don Mitch power dunk!
