11-01-19 Friday NBA Blog Train: 8 Games

Wow, it’s November! Winter is coming.

Cavaliers (2-2) at Pacers (1-3) -7 PUSH UNDER 215

Up until the 4th quarter, neither team could hit the broad side of a barn if the barn was five feet in front of them.

Pacers 102, Cavaliers 95.

FG percentage: Pacers 40.6%, Cavs 36.8%.

The only thing worse than watching this game was taking OVER 215 points, forcing us to watch putrid basketball while also feeling like an IDIOT. It’s OK. This was the only Over/Under that we missed all night save for this next push.

Bucks (2-2) -4.5 at Magic (2-2) PUSH 214

Milwaukee blew this one open in the 2nd quarter: Bucks 31, Magic 17. Orlando never recovered.

Bucks 123, Magic 91.

Points in the paint: Bucks 54, Magic 32. Fast Break points: Bucks 36, Magic 2.

Steve Clifford took the blame, he and the best players on the team, cause that’s how the NBA works, he says.

Rockets (3-1) at Nets (1-3) +4.5 UNDER 244.5

Harden did NOT have his 3-ball: 2 of 16. But you know he still had 36 points with 14 of 15 free throws.

Nets 123, Rockets 116.

Kyrie hit the step-back dagger with just under a minute left. Barclays was elated.

UNDER 244.5 was ambitious! The Nets needed this one.

Knicks (1-4) +9 at Celtics (3-1) UNDER 211

The Knicks hung tough in this one all night, as they tend to do. But the Knicks floundered a bit down the stretch, yet still had a chance after a Marcus Morris 3 tied the game at 102-102 with 4.7 seconds left.

That’s when Jayson Tatum was the guy for Boston, drilling a turnaround 3 that should have been a 2 but was a game-winner regardless.

Celtics 104, Knicks 102.

Almost a Marcus Morris Revenge Game. Kemba had 33.

TRENDY: Soo the Knicks have hit the UNDER in their last 5 games… Next up: Sacramento on Sunday night. Of course it’s the Kangz!

Pistons (2-3) at Bulls (1-4) -4 OVER 215

Otto Porter Jr. had his best game of this season with 22 points on 12 shots. OPJ had really been struggling, we know especially because we have him in fantasy.

Bulls 112, Pistons 106.

On the contrary, D-Rose has been crushing it for being drafted in the 13th round. (We’re talking about The League That Nobody Wanted. Power Ranks coming soon!)

Lakers (3-1) -1.5 at Mavericks (3-1) OVER 216

Listen, folks: This was an all-timer if you had OVER 216.

The Mavs started this one hot hot, and the OVER was looking good, but then Doncic got a quick 2nd foul and the dynamic of the game changed. The OVER looked rough the rest of the way.

That did not stop us from completely enjoying Luka, at 20 years old, going head-to-head with LeBron. But Doncic got “beat up” in the 4th quarter which is when King James and King Brow put on a show. LeBron gave us exactly what we wanted. He went for it, a freight train attacking the rim. A step-back 3 on Doncic and stare down.

The Lakers were still trailing by 3 with 6.4 seconds left, the door left open thanks to Dwight Powell missing a free throw. LeBron attacked the basket again, drawing the defense’s attention, and LBJ kicked it out to Danny Green in the corner who quickly pumped faked, kicked out his legs while rising up, and DRAINED the game-tying 3 at the buzzer to send the game to OT. The OVER was a lock! Never a doubt!!!!

Lakers 119, Mavs 110. OT

The Lakers two Kings were too much in OT. Woah, do the Lakers have two Kings? AD hasn’t won anything yet, but a King does have his victories on his way to the throne. AD, with another King guiding him along, looks fit for the task.

Triple-doubles: LeBron (39 points, 12 rebounds & 16 assists) and Luka (31 points, 12 rebounds & 15 assists.)

Also, ALEX CARUSO POWER DUNK!!!

Jazz (4-1) at Kings (0-5) +5.5 UNDER 214.5

UNDER 214.5 was the LOCK of the night! We felt it in our hearts.

Kings 102, Jazz 101.

We also felt it in the numbers. TRENDY: Utah has gone UNDER in 5 straight games. Next up: The Clippers on Sunday night. Of course it’s the Clippers! The Jazz and Clippers just played on Wednesday night (sans Kawhi) — Jazz 110, Clippers 96. UNDER 216.5. Total 206.

The Kings avoided 0-6, getting their first win behind the Dash Bros: 25 points for Fox and 18 for Hield.

Spurs (3-1) -7 at Warriors (1-3) OVER 222.5

We were shocked that the spread was only 7 points. We jumped ALL over Spurs -7 and OVER 222.5 — we have the West Coast games on lock down.

Spurs 127, Warriors 110.

The Warriors put in a commendable effort considering everything. And they did their part in hitting the OVER.

Patty Mills Game! 31 points and 6 of 9 on threes.

11-02-19 NBA SATURDAY: 8 GAMES

Pelicans (1-4) at Thunder (1-4) -3 O/U 227.5 — Pelicans have gone OVER in all 5 games. Thunder have gone UNDER in 4 out of 5.

Nets (2-3) -1.5 at Pistons (2-4) O/U 224 — Both on the 2nd of a back-to-back. The UNDER feels like a lock.

Nuggets (3-2) -4 at Magic (2-3) O/U 204.5 — This is a low one, but Orlando has hit the UNDER in 4 out of 5 with the 5th being a PUSH.

Raptors (4-1) at Bucks (3-2) -4.5 O/U 224.5 — It feels like these two have already played, but perhaps we’re just thinking about last year’s playoffs. We know Giannis hasn’t forgotten. Spicy P has been spicyyy.

Suns (3-2) -2 at Grizzlies (1-3) O/U 221.5 — You’re not a true hipster if this isn’t your game of the night.

Timberwolves (3-1) at Wizards (1-3) -2 O/U 225.5 — No KAT makes this one hard to read. Or does it?

Hornets (2-3) at Warriors (1-3) -1 O/U 223 — OVER 223 feels like a lock. And you know we love the Hornets!

76ers (4-0) at Blazers (3-2) -1.5 O/U 220 — UNDER 220 feels like a lock.

Blog Train Rollin’ — we love this game!
