Tuesday NBA Blog Train: 3 Games

Hawks (2-1) at Heat (2-1) -8 — Under 224

Our beloved Trae Young was helped to the locker room and did not return after rolling the hell out of his ankle in the 2nd quarter. Woj tweeted that X-Rays were negative, thank gawd. Shams tweeted the ankle sprain could keep Trae out possibly two weeks. An important MRI awaits on Wednesday.

Heat 112, Hawks 97.

Jimmy Butler (proud new father of a baby girl, Rylee) made his Heat debut. Butler and Herro combined to shoot 31 free throws, 7 more free throw attempts than the entire Atlanta Hawks team.

Miami won despite a whoppin’ 28 turnovers. Something tells us that Spoelstra is not going to get a good night’s sleep.

Mavs (2-1) +6 at Nuggets (3-0) — Over 212.5

The Nuggets came into this game with the longest current winning streak on the second night of a back-to-back at an impressive 9 games.

Mavs 109, Nuggets 106.

That streak is dead.

The Mavs had 9 players with 10+ points for the first time since 1986, a game at Seattle Center Coliseum vs. the Supersonics. Shoutout the Sonics!

Grizzlies (1-2) at Lakers (2-1) -12 — Under 215

The Grindy Grizz jumped out to a 14-2 lead and were looking pretty good until the 3rd quarter when AD, well, let’s just let Kendrick Perkins tell you what happened:

AD was actually questionable to play due to shoulder soreness, and he even left the game for the locker room at one point, but he sure returned and much to the Grizzlies’ dismay.

Lakers 120, Grizzlies 91.

Memphis simply could not stop The Brow who had 40 points and 20 rebounds in 3 quarters and set a Lakers record with 26 made free throws on 27 attempts.

If you took the road underdogs tonight, which was our first thought late last night, it got off to an ominous start with the Ice Trae injury. The Hawks were looking so good before that game changing injury. The Mavs pulled through, but the Grizz did not. Too much Brow. But guess what? Tomorrow is a new day with a beautiful 11 game slate:

Wednesday, October 30th 2019 — Halloween Eve

Knicks (1-3) at Magic (1-2) — A very low Over/Under at 208.5 and we like the UNDER.

Bulls (1-3) at Cavs (1-2) — Jim Boylen vs. John Beilein, gotta go with Boylen here, right?

T-Wolves (3-0) at 76ers (3-0) — Battle of the Undefeated. Wolves are +6.5?!

Pacers (0-3) at Nets (1-2) — Nets -3.5 feels like a lock.

Bucks (2-1) at Celtics (2-1) — Bucks -2.5 feels like a lock.

Pistons (2-2) at Raptors (3-1) — Pistons +8.5 feels like a lot for another Dwane Casey Revenge Game.

Blazers (2-2) at Thunder (1-3) — UNDER 223 feels like a lock.

Rockets (2-1) at Wizards (1-2) — O/U at 230.5 seems like a lot, but it’s the Rockets.

Hornets (1-3) at Kings (0-4) — The Kings are -7 but the Hornets have looked better in every game.

Clippers (3-1) at Jazz (3-1) — Clippers +1.5 points is enticing and so is UNDER 216 points.

Suns (2-2) at Warriors (1-2) — O/U at 229 is a lot lot. Warriors -5 feels iffy. Times have sure changed.

We’ll be back rollin’ tomorrow night. We love this game!
