11-08-19 NBA Blog Train Friday: 11 Games

Grizzlies (2-5) at Magic (2-6) -7.5 UNDER 208.5

The Grizzlies scored 8 points in the 4th quarter. EIGHT.

Magic 118, Grizzlies 86.

Points in the paint: Magic 62, Grizzlies 34.

JJJ baseline power dunk!

Cavaliers (2-5) +4.5 at Wizards (2-5) UNDER 233

Cleveland was in control the majority of this game, but the Wiz ended the 3rd quarter on a 13-2 run to cut the lead to 4. The Cavs took the 4th quarter 25 to 16.

Cavaliers 113, Wizards 100.

Tristan Thompson continues to be a BEAST in fantasy! Check it: 21 points (8 of 12 shooting), 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Shoutout BIG Rails of Whiteside! CRUSHING it in The League Nobody Wanted.

Pistons (4-5) at Pacers (4-4) -6 Push OVER 210

We are not even 10 games into the season and tonight was already Pistons vs. Pacers Round III a.k.a. The Pacers Revenge.

Detroit led by 15 in the first quarter but trailed Indiana by 4 at the half.

Pacers 112, Pistons 106.

The Pacers bench clearly heard us talking shit, and they balled out. In the first two meetings, Detroit outscored Indiana’s bench 103 to 34, but Indiana held the advantage tonight 51 to 28.

Drummond almost had his 15 points and 15 boards (2 boards shy). Big Penguin also had 8 assists!

It should be noted that the Pistons are still without Blake, Reg and D-Rose.

Kings (2-6) -2.5 at Hawks (3-4) OVER 225.5

We took Over 225 and this was the LOCK of the night! The Hawks were DUE for an Over. They had gone Under in all 7 games to start the season. If they were going to go Over, it was going to be against the Kings. Tonight. Also, last year in their two meetings, the game totals for Kings-Hawks: 248 and 261. LOCK. IT. UP.

Kings 121, Hawks 109.

The Kings were sniping all night: 18 of 31 from three, 58.1 percent. Bogey 5 of 6. Ariza 4 of 6. (Both off the bench.)

So glad we picked up Jabari Parker in fantasy before this one: 25 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Not bad for a free-agent straight off the waiver wire.

Dewayne Dedmon Revenge Game! Double D’s triumphant return back to State Farm Arena.

Warriors (2-6) +11.5 at Timberwolves (4-3) OVER 229

Yoo D-Lo was SNAPPIN! A career-high 52 points. The feisty G-League Warriors are even scrappier with Russell at the helm.

Andrew Wiggins also had a night with 40 points, albeit on 33 shots, but he also had 7 assists! We had the Warriors feed on League Pass and Kelenna Azubuike said, “If Wiggins played like this every night, Minnesota would be better!” Well, now there’s a thought.

Timberwolves 125, Warriors 119. OT

Points in the paint: T-Wolves 70, Warriors 34. If these Warriors ever get Draymond back, look out. You will not want to play them.

Raptors (5-2) -2 at Pelicans (1-6) UNDER 232.5

Kyle Lowry fractured his thumb and had to leave the game after playing just 16 minutes.

Siakam picked up the slack: 44 points (5 of 10 from three!), 10 boards and 4 dimes. #spicy

Raptors 122, Pelicans 104.

Brandon Ingram has been great, however, the Pelicans are now 1-7 and should go ahead and tank for LaMelo or Cole Anthony. #fuckitTANK

Knicks (1-7) +11 at Mavericks (5-2) UNDER 215

Welp. Folks, this happened:

IMG_3081.jpg

The Knicks Reverse Revenge Game on Porzingis was a LOCK! Even if we didn’t get it in. :/

This was our BIG MONEY LINE GAME!

*big sigh*

Next time. We are going to hit one.

Knicks 106, Mavericks 102.

Luka and Porzingis combined for 66 points (Luka had another triple-double 38p/14r/10a), but as we wondered in our team season preview, there just wasn’t enough scoring output from the other Mavs.

Three-pointers: Knicks 14 of 28 , Mavs 14 of 44. (!!)

Something to monitor: R.J. Parrot missed BOTH clutch free throws with 30 seconds left. And then Taj Gibson did the exact same thing.

WOB’S REVENGE.

Bucks (6-2) at Jazz (5-3) +2 UNDER 217.5

Contrasting styles, but we knew the Jazz would be going back Under.

What we didn’t know was that the game would almostttttt go into OT. With 1.3 seconds left in a 100-100 tie game, Jinglin’ Joe passed the ball in bounds to an open in the corner Bojan Bogdanovic who buried the game-winning 3 at the buzzer. No OT!!! Jazz Under all day.

Jazz 103, Bucks 100.

Three-pointers: Jazz 15 of 36 , Bucks 10 of 36. That was surprising.

Royce O’Neal power dunk!? Giannis wanted NO part of that.

76ers (5-2) +5 at Nuggets (5-2) UNDER 211.5

The Nuggets were down big throughout. The Nuggets were down 21 points in the 4th quarter.

The Nuggets outscored the Sixers 35 to 13 in the final frame to complete the biggest 4th quarter comeback in franchise history!

On a bit of a scrambled play, Jokic hit a game-winning lofty jumper with 2 seconds left. In the immediate post-game interview, Jokic said, “I saw Millsap down there, so I kinda throw him a hot potato, and he get me back. And I made the shot, so…” *shrugs*

Nuggets 100, 76ers 97.

Usually a strength, the Nuggets bench unit was brutal all night.
_____________________________________

Nets (3-4) +3.5 at Trail Blazers (3-5) UNDER 240.5

Lillard dropped a career-high 60 points, but it wasn’t enough.

Nets 119, Blazers 115.

Uncle Drew was clutch. Spincer Dinwiddie scored 34 points off the bench!

_____________________________________

Heat (6-2) at Lakers (6-1) -8.5 UNDER 218.5

We have learned AGAIN that the Lakers defense is seriously REAL. That’s just the way it is!

Scoring in the 4th quarter was pitiful: Lakers 17, Heat 14. Points. Those are points. Not many of them.

Lakers 95, Heat 80.

LeBron and AD combined for 51 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds. And it looked pretty easy.

Meet us at the cleaners.
