02-12-20 NBA Blog Train Wednesday

Eleven games on the Wednesday night menu. Only two games tomorrow night and then it’s All-Star Weekend!

This is the last Blog Train for a while. Let’s get it!

Pistons +6.5 at Magic Over 209

magic-orange-city-edition-again.jpg

On Monday night, we asked that the Magic not wear their orange city edition jerseys again for a while. Yet here they were. But hot damn, we again did not mind them as much against the Pistons road whites. We will allow the Magic to continue to rock their orange city edition jerseys so long as the other team is wearing white.

Checking in on Dwane Casey… Yep.

Magic 116, Pistons 112. OT

We said it Monday night and we’ll say it again: Somewhere, Big Penguin is smiling.

Hawks at Cavaliers +3 Under 234

andre-drummond-smile.jpg

HERE. Big Penguin is smiling right here! In Cleveland, of course.

Cavs 127, Hawks 105.

Drummond was 1 point shy of his 15 points but got his 15 boards exactly.

Tristan Thompson scored 27 points and was 3 of 3 from three!

Raptors at Nets +4 UNDER 224

Raptors Scarf Gang.

Mr. Whammy was letting Terence Davis have it in the second quarter.

We have been wanting to get Wilson Chandler’s hair on the blog for a while now. Tonight’s the night.

Nets bench mob back!

Nets 101, Raptors 91.

Not only did the Nets snap the Raptors franchise-record 15-game winning streak, but the Nets also stopped the Raps from completing the season series sweep, and avenged their 1-point loss from last Saturday.

Wizards +3 at Knicks Under 228

latrell-sprewell.jpg

Latrell Sprewell in the house at MSG! Mike Breen said that people always ask him who the most intelligent players are, and that Sprewell is definitely in his Top 10.

mike-miller-and-knicks-fans-lol.jpg

A lot to unpack here. It’s difficult to pinpoint our favorite part of this photo. Dude in the glasses and scarf probably takes it.

Wizards 114, Knicks 96.

Tonight was Mo Harkless’ debut as a New York Knick. Imagine being Mo Harkless: A starter for the Clippers. A starter on a Championship contender. All year. A Championship on your mind when you wake up. Every day. Then you wake up and your ass is a New York Knick. However, Mo is actually from Queens, so at least there is that.

Bucks at Pacers -1.5 Over 224

Joey said he was tempted to take the Pesky Pacers tonight. We advised him to take it! No Giannis for the Bucks, another must-win for the Pacers amidst their 6-game losing streak, and a Malcom Brogdon Revenge Game. The Pesky Pacers were a Pure Lock!

The Wedding Singer.

Pacers 118, Bucks 111.

T.J. Warren finished with 35 points on 16 of 19 shooting. 16 of 19!

_____________________________________

Hornets +6 at Timberwolves Under 224.5

Confirmed.

Hornets 115, T-Wolves 108.

The T-Wooves (yes, wooves) were up 16 at the half, but the Hornets buzzed back with an 18-2 run to end the 3rd quarter and begin the 4th. Eric Collins was losing his mind more so than usual.

Blazers at Grizzlies -3.5 UNDER 234.5

Some (read: a lot) of us are ready for a little vacay.

whiteside-valanchoony-scuffle.jpg

Whiteside and Valanchoony got into a little scuffle late. A double technical was assessed, Whiteside’s second tech of the game, so he was ejected with 19.5 seconds left.

Grizzlies 111, Blazers 104.

Dame injured his groin in the last couple of minutes and it sounds like he’s not going to be able to play in the All-Star Game. He advocated that Devin Booker take his spot! Dame is a real one.

Kings at Mavericks -8.5 Over 226

Porzingis power dunk! Level 3?

Kleber power block!

boban-tall-lol.jpg

Boban had a little bit of trouble getting the ball down, but he eventually did, much to everyone’s delight.

luka-big-smile-boban-lol.jpg

Luka especially loved it.

luka-cubes-so-happy.jpg

But not as much as he and Cubes enjoyed Boban hitting a corner three in garbage time.

Mavs 130, Kings 111.

Luka’s return: 33 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists with a +30 net rating. The Don is back!

_____________________________________

Heat at Jazz -5 Over 216.5

Bam poster / power dunk on Gobert! Level 2? Just cause it was on Gobert. Definitely more of a poster.

This is precisely how we felt upon seeing the Heat-Jazz city edition jerseys combo tonight.

valentines-boys.jpg

These boys are ready for Valentine’s Day.

Jazz 116, Heat 101.

Junder 216.5 missed out by a half point, same as last Friday night when we lost a chunk while at the bar with Joey. Stay away from the Junder!

_____________________________________

Warriors +7 at Suns Under 227

Marquese Chriss power block on one end and then two-handed power dunk on the other! Level 2.8. A professional score.

Book was not having it on this one, though. “Hell yeah! HELL YEAH!!”

Suns 112, Warriors 106.

Hell yeah, Book is finally going to be an All-Star!

It’s time for another episode of WHO HE!? Tonight, we have Juan Toscano-Anderson, #95 for the post-trade deadline G League Warriors. Toscano-Anderson is a 6-6 26-year-old rookie from Marquette who is originally from the Bay Area! Tonight was Toscano-Anderson’s third NBA game with his debut coming last Saturday night against the Lakers.

We also have Zach Norvell, #21 for the Warriors. WHO HE!? Norvell is a 6-5 rookie from Gonzaga with the nickname “Snacks” listed on his Basketball-Reference page. Snacks actually started the season on the Lakers roster and played two games for the Purple and Gold in the second and third games of the season way back in October. Norvell signed a 10-day contract with the Warriors on February 8th.

_____________________________________

Lakers -3 at Nuggets Over 220.5

LeBron power dunk! Level 3.4? A Jokic shove thrown in for good measure.

Perfect lob by Rondo.

The Brow’s threes were the difference in this high-octane, super intense playoff-like atmosphere.

Lakers 120, Nuggets 116. OT

LeBron 30-point triple-double: 32 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds. And he was diving on the floor for a loose ball in OT, giving it everything he had.

Dear Friends, we hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day, All-Star Weekend and All-Star Break. It will be some time before the Blog Train leaves the station again. But hopefully you know by now that you can count on us to be back.

We love this game!
