Bulls (0-0) at Hornets (0-0)

Charlotte was ablaze on Wednesday night. The Hornets hit a franchise record 23 three-pointers.

  • P.J. Washington: 7 of 11 from three and 27 points in his NBA debut.

  • Devonte Graham: 6 of 7 from three. The announcers, Eric Collins and Dell Curry, could not believe it.

  • Marvin Williams: 5 of 7 from three — he drained all 5 in a row!

Chicago put in a 40-point 3rd quarter and had a 10-point lead in the 4th before melting down the stretch, outscored by Charlotte 18 to 7 to end the game.

  • Markkanen led the comeback charge with 35 points and 17 boards but was just 1 of 7 from three.

  • The rook (Coby White) and the vet (Thad Young) both chipped in 17 points off the bench.

  • Ryan Arcidiacono had several big hustle plays, going all out, diving for lose balls. We noticed the effort, Arch!

Hornets 126, Bulls 125.

Both teams are going to have some serious issues defensively.

Points in the paint: Charlotte 42, Chicago 78.

Threes: Charlotte 23 of 44, Chicago 9 of 30.

Pistons (0-0) at Pacers (0-0)

Pistons Notes:

  • We’ve mentioned Andre Drummond getting his 15 points and 15 boards. Well, Big Penguin started off the season by dropping 32 points and hauling in 23 boards. Drummond even hit 8 of 10 free throws!

  • Luke Kennard was lefty sniping, 6 of 9 from three and +12 in 28 mins off the bench.

Pacers Notes:

  • Three starters scored over 20 points: Sabonis (27), Turner (25) and Brogdon (22).

  • But the bench was dreadful: 16 total points. Eric Sumner’s (who he?) net rating was -23.

Pistons 119, Pacers 110.

The Pistons outscored the Pacers by 12 in the 4th quarter.

Cavaliers (0-0) at Magic (0-0)

The Return of Markelle Fultz. Granted it was the Cavs, but Fultz looked great! A tomahawk power dunk, a slick up-and-under lay in with a sweet spin off the glass and several nifty passes. Little bit of everything. We love to see it!

Magic 94, Cavs 85.

Hope you took the UNDER!

Celtics (0-0) at 76ers (0-0)

These two started slow out of the gate. The first quarter was pretty ugly.

The free throw shooting was also abysmal. Philly missed 10 free throws and Boston missed 14!

76ers 107, Celtics 93.

As expected, the Sixers bigs did work against the smaller C’s.

  • Points in the paint: Philly 58, Boston 44.

  • Rebounds: Philly 62, Celtics 41.

Ben Simmons did not attempt a 3.

Grizzlies (0-0) at Heat (0-0)

Jimmy Butler did not play for “personal reasons.”

The Grizz started off nicely and had the lead after the first frame, 32-24. The Heat owned the 4th quarter, 37 to 17.

Heat 120, Grizzlies 101.

Miami’s co-stars: Justise Winslow (27p, 7r & 7a) and Kendrick Nunn (24 points).

T-Wolves (0-0) at Nets (0-0)

Big KAT was beastin’. 34 points (7 of 11 from 3!), 14 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks.

Wiggins was not: -26 net rating despite 21 points (10 of 27 from the field). 0 assists.

T-Wolves 127, Nets 126. OT

Welcome home, Kyrie! Uncle Drew was in his bag, a 50-piece with 0 turnovers, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and almostttt hit the game-winner at the buzzer after falling down and saving it.

Jarrett Allen got the start! DeAndre only played 17 mins and was 0 for 1 from the field. #washed

Theo Pinson was dancing a little jig after a sick Kyrie behind-the-back no look pass to Joe Harris for 3. The Nets bench mob will grow.

Wizards (0-0) at Mavs (0-0)

Luka poured in 34 points and he was so happy.

Bradley Beal had a tough night, 1 of 11 from three. Blue Panda was ejected with 1 min left.

Mavs 108, Wizards 100.

Bad beat alert! The spread was Mavs -9 and Dallas was up by 11, but then Wizards tattooed sophomore Chris Chiozza hit a 3 with 27 seconds left. The Wizards covered!

Knicks (0-0) at Spurs (0-0)

In his late night Periscope, @WorldWideWob was talking NBA Pet Names. Somebody said R.J. Parrot.

Spurs 120, Knicks 111.

The Spurs got their revenge on Marcus Morris.

The Knicks were competent?

Thunder (0-0) at Jazz (0-0)

Don Mitch was ballin’ and clutch. An efficient 32 points on 14 of 22 shooting and a career-high 12 rebounds.

Jazz fans cheered Mike Conley on at the end of the game despite Conley’s forgettable first game for Utah, 1 made basket on 16 attempts!

Jazz 100, Thunder 95.

The Thunder put in a valiant effort with CP3, SGA and The Rooster all scoring 20+ points.

Nuggets (0-0) at Trail Blazers (0-0)

Simply too much Joker. Big Honey only played 24 mins due to foul trouble, but he was soo good in those 24 mins.

Dame Dolla had quite the power dunk and 32 points on efficient 10 of 21 shooting, but he didn’t get much help. McCollum was off: 5 of 18 from the field.

Nuggets 108, Trail Blazers 100.

Three-pointers: Denver 18 of 32, Portland 7 of 28.

First opening night home loss in Portland in 18 years!

Michael Porter Jr. — DNP.

Kings (0-0) at Suns (0-0)

The Kings were rollin’ with an 11-point lead in the 2nd quarter and led by 5 at halftime before the wheels fell ALL the way off. Fox got in foul trouble and the Suns took advantage, outscoring Sacramento 32 to 17 in the 3rd quarter and 38 to 19 in the 4th.

Suns 124, Kings 95.

Kelly Oubre Jr. was the X-factor with 21 points and he threw in a power dunk for good measure.
