03-10-20 NBA Blog Train Tuesday

Nine games on the Tuesday night menu.

Before we get to tonight’s game capsules, we would be remiss if we did not include a potential Level 5 power dunk from Monday night:

Yes, a charge was actually called. No, we are NOT going to let that stop us from including this in the Power Dunk of the Year conversation. We did not see it as a charge. This is still a Power Dunk in our book. And a mighty one at that! Level 4.9? Not sure that is tops 11/15/19 LeBron on Bjelica, but it’s probably #2 on the 2019-2020 season.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming:

Celtics -3 Push at Pacers Over 215

The Pacers stormed back by way of Oladipo after trailing the Celtics by 14 going into the 4th quarter. The Celtics hung on for the W, but the old Dipo looks to be back! Very promising for the Pesky Pacers even in the loss.

Celtics 114, Pacers 111.

Justin Holiday threw up a potential game-tying three at the end. Alas, she was very short.

Kemba struggled with just 11 points on 3 of 12 shooting despite scoring 44 points in the first game against Indiana on December 11th. Tatum (30), Hayward (27) and Theis (20) all scored 20+ points to pick up the slack.

Knicks at Wizards -5 Over 229.5

Scotty Brooks was staring into space again. Things would turn around, Scott!

Mitch Rob lite power dunk. Level 2.3?

This was the best offensive game of Frankie Smokes career. A career-high 20 points on 6 of 9 shooting, 3 of 5 from three (!!) and 10 assists with a +17 net rating!

Wizards 122, Knicks 115.

The Wiz outscored the Knicks by 21 in the 2nd half. Brad Beal blitzed 20 points in the 3rd quarter, dropping a 40-piece on the night.

Cavaliers at Bulls -4 Under 217.5

Some nifty moves by Coby in his first ever start. C-White finished with 20 points, albeit on 7 of 17 shooting with 9 turnovers, but also 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

Daniel Gafford lite power dunk!? Level 2.7?

Bulls 108, Cavs 103.

The Bulls take the season series 3-1 over the Cavs, winning the final three games.

Magic +2.5 at Grizzlies Over 218

Anthony Tolliver was flexing and the Grizz injured bench gang was elated after some Josh Jackson fanciness in the 1st quarter.

Air Gordon two-handed power dunk. Level 3.6?

fournier-magic-bench.jpg

Not a full Magic injured bench gang, but solo Fournier with Vooch will do.

Magic 120, Grizzlies 115.

Y’ALL, the Magic have hit the Over in 12 consecutive games!!! THE MAGIC GET INTO SOME HIGH SCORING AFFAIRS! So long as the Magic keep going Over, we will continue to shout it from the mountaintops.

Tyus Jones had a great look at a potential game-tying three in the waning seconds. Alas, she did not fall.

Mavericks at Spurs +4 Under 232

DFS power oop! It was kind of a throw… but it sounded so good! Still a lot of power. Level 2.8?

Not exactly sure what KP was thinking here.. it’s almost like he thought backcourt was out of bounds or something?

Spurs 119, Mavs 109.

The Spurs stopped the Mavs from getting the clean series sweep.

Aldridge is back! Winter is Coming???

Timberwolves +12.5 at Rockets UNDER 249.5

Naz Reid power dunk! Level 2.7? The very next play…

Westbrook power dunk! Level 3.3? Back-to-back power dunks!

Rockets 117, T-Wolves 111.

The Rockets completed the clean season series sweep of the Wolves with wins of 20, 30, 7 and 6 points.

RoCo Revenge Game!

Suns at Blazers -6 Under 234.5

We are not sure what was up with these dino Blazers outfits, but we enjoyed them. Thought they were frogger at first glance.

Blazers 121, Suns 105.

The Blazers successfully avenged their 10-point loss to the Suns in Phoenix last Friday night.

Clippers -12.5 at Warriors Over 223.5

Wiggins garbage time power dunk on top of Zubac! Level 2.4?

Clippers 131, Warriors 107.

We did not hear from Coach tonight, so he must have been taking a rare night off. But the Clippers sure would have been a PURE Lock.

It’s time for another episode of your favorite segment! #25 for the Warriors, Chasson Randle… WHO HE!? Chasson is a 6-2 point guard from Stanford (4-year college guy) who made his NBA debut back in 2017. He is a seasoned G Leaguer which makes total sense considering that he signed a 10-day contract with the G League Warriors on March 3rd. He actually played 49 games for the Wizards last year! Tonight was Chasson’s third game with the Dubs. Welcome to the Blog Train!

Nets +12 at Lakers UNDER 226.5

The Nets bench celebrated another Cheese three-pointer with 3-signs all around.

That’s another go-ahead game-winner from Spencer Dinwiddie. Bird was calling the Clips-Dubs game on TNT, so we did not even get a chance at another “Spencer WINdiddie.”

Nets 104, Lakers 102.

Welp, the Lakers dominated in the two biggest games of the season over the weekend against the Bucks and Clippers. Tonight, they laid an egg.

AD had a fantastic look at what would have been the game-winning three at the buzzer right in front of the Nets bench from a glorious kick-out from LeBron. ALAS, she did not fall.
