01-20-20 NBA Blog Train MLK Day

A 14-game mega slate on MLK Day.

“We cannot walk alone.” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Pistons at Wizards -1 UNDER 232.5

The fourth and final game between the Wizards and Pistons. The Wiz took the first two games pretty handily and then Detroit got a big 30-point revenge win the day after Christmas.

Blue Panda got ‘em, Wiz bench mobbin’.

Wizards 106, Pistons 100.

The Wizards take the season series for the sixth time in the last 7 seasons vs. Detroit.

Drummond got his 15 points (18) and 15 boards (16), but he got hit in the nose inadvertently by Thomas Bryant at the very end and left the game 14 seconds early, kicking over a chair on his way to the locker room. Big Penguin was upset.

The Hawks stormed back late, but they waited a wee bit too long.

Ice Trae be putting up NUMBERS: 42 points and 15 assists.

In a potential revenge game for the Nets from last week, Kyrie was nowhere to be found.

Ben Simmons had himself an MLK Day: 34 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists.

The Sixers have now won 4 in a row and on the contrary, the Nets have now lost 4 in a row.

I can’t remember the last time I have seen this many airballs in a game.

Magic 106, Hornets 83.

Evan Fournier: 26 points on 10 of 14 shooting, 6 of 8 from three and a +34 net rating!

Our beloved Hornets have lost 7 straight, but the Hornets next game is in Paris?! The Hornets play the Bucks on Friday in Paris!

Knicks -1.5 at Cavaliers Under 222

The Cavs embarrassed the Knicks in the first game between these two. Then the Knicks embarrassed the Cavs in the second game. And today, the Knicks embarrassed the Cavs again.

Knicks 106, Cavs 86.

Points in the paint: Knicks 56, Cavs 34.

Thunder +7.5 at Rockets Under 230.5

It seems like players relish putting Harden through the cooker.

Thunder 112, Rockets 107.

Westbrook had a 30-point triple double and Russ has scored 30 points in 5 straight games, however, the Rockets have lost 4 in a row… #problem

We will not be surprised if Houston turns this ship around.

Bulls +15.5 at Bucks Under 225.5

Giannis power dunk, but this one is not as powerful as most of his.

Greek Freak triple-double: 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

Bucks 111, Bulls 98.

The Bucks completed the season series sweep of the Bulls with wins of 9, 14, 21 and 13 points.

At least the Bulls covered!

Kings at Heat -3.5 Over 221

Bam is an All-Star.

This Bam over-the-top lay-in tied the game with 0.8 seconds left to force OT.

Heat 118, Kings 113. OT

The Heat have appeared in the most overtime games in the NBA (seven) and are a perfect 7-0.

_____________________________________

Lakers at Celtics +2.5 OVER 225.5

Jaylen power dunk on LeBron! Jaylen and Jayson both have a poster on The King now.

Celtics 139, Lakers 107.

Kemba Walker’s first win against LeBron in his career. Kemba was 0 for 28 coming into this one. Why is that? Because Kemba used to play for the Hornets, and the Hornets owner is Michael Jordan.

Nuggets +3.5 at Timberwolves Under 221

Joker got KAT kicking at the air.

Nuggs 107, T-Wolves 100.

Going back to last season, the Nuggets are 19-3 on the second night of a back-to-back. That is wildly impressive.

Also very impressive is Michael Porter Jr., who scored 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting, 4 of 8 from three, and hauled in 14 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. MPJ could be the playoff weapon the Nuggs have been looking for.

Pacers at Jazz -8 Under 215.5

Tonight was the second night of a back-to-back for the Pesky Pacers after a come-from-behind win last night in Denver, so we had a good feeling about this Jazz Under. #Junder

#jingled

Jazz 118, Pacers 88.

Quinn Snyder is doing a good job of working Mike Conley back into the rotations. Conley had a solid game with 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench.

Spurs +4.5 at Suns Over 230

Book always balls out in those purple Nikes.

Bryn Forbes was fuckin’ snipin’ in the first half with 7 threes!? He only hit one in the second half, but it came at a time when the Spurs needed it most.

Spurs 120, Suns 118.

Winter is Coming!

Warriors +7.5 at Blazers Over 222

You know, a Dame time step-back game-tying three to send it to OT.

Blazers 129, Warriors 124. OT

Dame finished with a career-high and franchise record 61 points, an MLK Day Record. Saved the best for last!

This was an awesome comeback win for the Blazers who really needed it. This was also great for the Warriors tank! The Dubs don’t need no dubs. Speaking of, why exactly are they planning to bring Steph back on March 1st?? I understand wanting to play, but it is simply just not worth the risk of another injury during meaningless games. Embrace the tank!

Only one game tomorrow night, but it’s a good one: Clippers at Mavs. Sounds like no PG or KP, so Kawhi vs. Luka will have to do.

We love this game!
