NBA Blog Train: Media Day - Western Conference

The NBA’s Media Days have come and gone.

Yesterday we took a look at the Eastern Conference, so let’s check in on the 15 Western Conference teams.

(We included the Over/Under win totals for each team, because the season is only three weeks away. It’s time to start thinking about your bets! We also included our picks based on the team’s Media Day. These are not our official selections. Closer to the season, we’ll have our division by division Season Preview with the Case for the Over and the Case for the Under along with our official pick for each team.)

Oklahoma City Thunder (O/U 21.5 wins)

Okay, Lu Dort!! Looking freaking RIPPED.

A scarier Dorture Chamber = Over 21.5 wins for OKC.

Houston Rockets (O/U 27.5 wins)

Even if being the best backcourt in the league is a bit of a reach this soon, it’s difficult to look at those smiles and not think:

We gotta take Over 27.5 wins for the Rox.

San Antonio Spurs (O/U 29.5 wins)

While we are of the belief that there should only be one Luka, this shit right here goes kinda crazy.

Yet a lack of focus spells trouble.

Sorry Pop, but we are rolling with Under 29.5 wins for these lackadaisical Spurs.

Minnesota Timberwolves (O/U 33.5 wins)

We wholeheartedly love everything about this kid.

No question about taking Over 33.5 wins for the T-Wolves.

Sacramento Kings (O/U 35.5 wins)

(The shoes got cut off, so we did a reverse cut so you could see them.)

Davion’s kicks are fire and check out his intensity. We still miss Fox’s hair terribly, but those orange Kobe’s are absolute dynamite. Haliburton has a very genuine smile, however, whatever the hell shoes he is wearing make us want to puke.

A retched Under 35.5 wins for the Kangz.

New Orleans Pelicans (O/U 38.5 wins)

This x 1,000,000,000. That news somehow not leaking in this day and age is truly astonishing. And it’s honestly wildly impressive!

Singing “Piano Man” while hitting Over 38.5 wins for the Pellies.

Memphis Grizzlies (O/U 40.5 wins)

It is impossible not to love Steven Adams.

Chomping at the bit on Over 40.5 wins for the Grizz.

____________________________________

Portland Trail Blazers (O/U 44.5 wins)

Yeah, that’s gonna be a no from us, dawg.

Under 44.5 wins for the Blazers cause Terry Stotts deserved better.

Los Angeles Clippers (O/U 45.5 wins)

First of all, we have LONG been on record as Terance Mann stans. (We were there from Day 1.)

If you didn’t watch the entire clip above, Batum says at the end that it’s just the beginning and we’ve only seen 10% of Terance Mann right now. Adding 90% more to the Terance Mann that we’ve already seen would probably make him one of the best players in the entire league. Literally wouldn’t even be surprised.

We are devouring Over 45.5 wins on the Clips.

Golden State Warriors (O/U 47.5 wins)

These are TIGHT. Remember when Curry dropped those Curry 2 Lows back in 2016? lolol

You’ve come a long way, baby = Over 47.5 wins for the Dubs.

Denver Nuggets (O/U 47.5 wins)

Counting down the days until Thing 2 gets back on the court.

Thing 1 is so good that we still have to take Over 47.5 wins for the Nuggs.

____________________________________

Dallas Mavericks (O/U 48.5 wins)

boban-lmao.jpg

Boban is a national treasure.

Over 48.5 wins for the Mavs if we even needed to say it.

____________________________________

Phoenix Suns (O/U 50.5 wins)

That ball looks incredibly small. We had to do a little research on it, and this Complex article “Remembering One of the NBA’s Biggest Failed Experiments: The “New Ball” from 2017 should have you covered.

This feels like an ominous sign, so we have to roll with Under 50.5 wins for the Suns.

Utah Jazz (O/U 53.5 wins)

Whiteside is a character, and he’s def not wrong.

quinn-snyder-crazyeyes.jpg

Quinn Snyder do be having those crazy eyes.

We’ve already taken a lot Overs, so we better go with Under 53.5 wins for the Jazz.

Los Angeles Lakers (O/U 53.5 wins)

HILLBILLY KOBE HAS ENTERED THE GROUP CHAT.

Trevor Ariza is an OG for real.

LAKESHOWWWWWWWW Over 53.5 wins.
