From four straight Finals to firing the head coach last season after six games.

Woof.

That would be the one word we would use to describe the current state of this franchise.

There is dealing with the aftermath of a break up with somebody you like and then there is the rock bottom fall out of a break up with that special someone who was your everything.

How long will it take Cleveland to actually recover in the wake of LeBron’s departure?

Will it ever truly be The Land again?

If the Spurs are the White Walkers and the Pistons are the Wildlings, then the Cavs are the citizens of King’s Landing.

Okay, that might be a little harsh. There was a positive stretch after the All-Star game last year when Kevin Love was back.

And there is a long list of expiring contracts! Tristan Thompson, Mathew Dellevadova, Cedi Osman, Jordan Clarkson, John Henson and Brandon Knight will free up a total of $69.7 million from the books.

But even if the door is ever so slightly ajar with the tiniest sliver of light shining through…
