04-14-21 NBA Blog Train Parlay / LukaMagic Wednesday
One month ago to the day, we hit a 5-game Pie Day Parlay, turning 30 bucks into nearly $900.
The plan was to use the winnings to purchase tickets to the Lakers at Hornets game on April 13th.
That very Lakers-Hornets game was last night, and it was missing a few guys: LeBron James, Anthony Davis, LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier and even Malik Monk. So we decided to save our money for another day, eying an upcoming juicy matchup featuring our beloved Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans and one Zion Williamson on Sunday, May 9th.
Tonight, however, exactly one month after we hit our first ever parlay, we decided to give another one a whirl.
Cavs at Hornets -3
Knicks +125 at Pelicans
Magic +375 at Bulls
Mavericks at Grizzlies Over 225.5
Risking $15 to win $375.
This parlay did not go as well as the last one, it busted in the first game with the Hornets losing to the Cavs 103-90, their third loss in a row after such a promising road trip, shorthanded and all.
We still enjoyed the game, and the Hornets broadcast, as always.
Eric Collins not only informed us that Jarrett Allen likes to work with computers (as in he likes to take them apart and put them back together), but EC also told us that the next time we are at a German restaurant, we should order a pizza and say “extra knoblauch” to get some extra garlic. You see, knoblauch is the German word for garlic. Dell is not a big garlic guy, but he says he will give it a try, EC has never steered us wrong before.
The Knicks +125 MoneyLine very much pulled through in another Julius Randle Revenge Game — Knicks 116, Pelicans 106. Randle always plays well against his former teams, scoring 32 points tonight after 34 against the Lakers on Monday night.
The Magic +375 MoneyLine also very much pulled through in a Wendell Carter Jr. Revenge Game! Magic 115, Bulls 106. The Magic led by as many as 23 points. The Bulls are in a bad, bad place right now. Poor Vooch.
The Mavericks-Grizzlies Over 225.5 also pulled through, but only at the very, very end. You know, on a Luka stumbling and falling down buzzer beating three-pointer — Mavs 114, Grizz 113. 227 total points.
Yes, that’s right. If the Hornets had done their part tonight then we would have been celebrating the LukaMagic buzzer beater even that much more.
Yet even so, we still shouted HALLELUKA.
Wonderboy did it again.
The legend continues.
We love this game!
