All-Power Dunk Teams 2020-2021
As the 2020-2021 NBA regular season has drawn to a close, and as we rushed to fill out our All-NBA selections and awards ballots, one team always gets lost in the shuffle. And to that we say: No more.
The first annual All-Power Dunk teams are below:
1st Team
1. Miles Bridges
Dunks so ferocious that he consistently had Eric Collins yelling, “HUM DIDDLY DEE,” “HOW DO YOU DOOOO!?,” and a very honest “I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT JUST HAPPENED!” Miles Bridges is the Sonic Boom of Charlotte, striking so often and outrageously that he’s the no doubt unanimous 2020-2021 Power Dunker of the Year.
2. Zion
The sudden behemoth built like a rhino with the horse power of a thousand F350’s, pretty much every Zion dunk is a power dunk due to his sheer size and leaping ability. But you know when you get a true Zion power dunk. It leaves Antonio Daniels cackling and the goal shaking like a leaf more so than usual. And you are left thinking about one thing: Power.
3. Ant-Man
There was a point in time (to be specific, it was right after we witnessed Ant rise up and destroy Wantababy on live TV) when we declared, “Ant-Man is already the most consistent power dunker in the league!” It was true back then on that random Friday night in February, but Bridges and Zion picked up both their pace and power. Yet Ant-Man is still the most prolific rookie power dunker that we can remember and should be on this list for many years to come.
4. John Collins
The only thing keeping John Collins from being higher or perhaps even atop this list is the frequency of his power dunks. Extreme power, just not as often.
5. KAT
KAT’s 2020-2021 work includes power dunking on Boban, Embiid, former teammate Andrew Wiggins, and a fast break windmill in Phoenix that got Papa Ayton to say aloud whilst in disbelief, “That’s crazy.”
2nd Team
6. Giannis
7. Bam
8. Uncle Jeff
9. LaVine
10. PG
3rd Team
11. Rozier
12. DeRozan
13. LeBron
14. D. Mitch
15. Chris Boucher
Honorable Mention: Jaxson Hayes, Keldon Johnson, Jarrett Allen, Embiid and Zubac.
