11-12-21 NBA Blog Train Friday

Eleven games on the Friday night menu.

All aboard!

Knicks at Hornets +2.5 UNDER 224.5

Kemba lit up his former team for 17 points in the first quarter, half of the Knicks 34, while the Hornets only managed 18 points. But the Knicks fell apart like a 3-dollar suitcase. (Eric Collins remains undefeated.)

It would be cool if every time somebody threw down a windmill, a player on the other team tried to match it. But there is only one Miles Bridges!

Hornets 104, Knicks 96.

That kinda seems like a problem. (Elfrid Payton, where are youuu?)

Bucks at Celtics -5.5 Over 209.5

Celtics 122, Bucks 113. OT

Dennis Schroder scored 38 points which was 10 more than he ever scored for the Lakers.

Pistons at Cavaliers -5 UNDER 200.5

The Cavs -5 and this Under 200.5 was the Double Pure Lock of the night.

Cavs 98, Pistons 78.

Per Statmuse, the Pistons are shooting 39.6% this season, the worst by any team since 1960. Detroit is also shooting 28.6% from three, the worst by any team in the last 20 seasons. WOOF.

Blazers -7 at Rockets UNDER 222.5

Blazers 104, Rockets 92.

In a wild turn of events, the Blazers bench unit played much better than the Portland starters.

The Rockets are now 1-11 and ahead of only the New Orleans Pelicans.

Suns -2 at Grizzlies Under 222.5

The Suns ran the Grizz right out of the gym. The final score really isn’t a true indicator as the Grizz never led, and the Suns were up by as many as 38.

Suns 119, Grizzlies 94.

The Suns have won 7 straight.

The Grizz have lost 3 out of 4, but next up is the Pelicans and Rockets.

Nets at Pelicans +9.5 OVER 215

Harden had a little bounce back in his step tonight. This was The Beard’s best game of the season.

The Nets led by 8 after the 1st, by 7 at halftime and by 21 in the 3rd quarter.

But the Pelicans went on a 16-2 run that overlapped from the 3rd to the 4th quarter. It was the Pelicans who led 104-101 with less than 5 minutes left.

The Nets got their shit together and put in a quick 16-6 run of their own. (But the damage was done and Nets -9.5 was toast.)

Nets 120, Pelicans 112.

  • Harden: 39 points (11-of-18 from the field, 6-of-10 from 3, 11-of-15 from free), 12 assists and 5 boards.

  • KD: 28 points (11-of-17 from the field, 3-of-3 from 3), 8 assists and 7 assists.

Hats off to the 1-12 Pelicans who fought hard to the end. Our boy Trey Murphy III was a big part of the spark, +18 in 18 minutes.

Kings at Thunder +5 Under 218.5

Thunder 105, Kings 103.

The Thunder have won 4 in a row and are currently sitting at 10th in the West. This is where we remind you that SGA is so good that you can’t tank with him out there.

The Kings, on the other hand, are going in the exact opposite direction, and have now lost 4 in a row.

Mavericks -2.5 at Spurs Over 220

Mavs 123, Spurs 109.

Luka is now 6th all-time in NBA history with his 18th 30-point triple-double, passing Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. He is 22 years old.

____________________________________

Hawks at Nuggets -4 UNDER 214.5

Nuggets 105, Hawks 96.

In 21 minutes off the bench, Bones scored 15 points with three 3s and also hauled in 5 boards and dished out 4 assists. BIZZY BONES, y’all!

The nosediving Hawks have lost 6 straight games and have the second-worst defense in the NBA.

Bulls at Warriors -5.5 Under 223

The Bulls led by 10 early and by 6 after the 1st quarter. But that 1st quarter was a mirage. We could feel it as soon as it started.

The Warriors gained all the momentum with Chase Center behind them and turned this into a freaking blowout. Steph hit nine 3’s and dropped 40.

  • 1st quarter: Bulls 29, Warriors 23.

  • Last 3 quarters: Warriors 96, Bulls 64.

Warriors 119, Bulls 93.

Without Vooch, the Bulls have a tough road ahead: @Clippers, @Lakers, @Blazers and @Nuggets.

Meanwhile the Warriors are embarking on a road trip of their own but of the east coast variety: @Hornets, @Nets, @Cavs and @Pistons.

T-Wolves +1 at Lakers Under 223

3rd quarter: T-Wolves 40, Lakers 12.

T-Wolves 107, Lakers 83.
